Note: We sell two different styles of M4 TV wall mount screws: this set with socket button heads and our other style with Phillips pan heads. Both styles have the same diameter and length threads, both cost the same and both do the same thing. The difference is what tool is available to you and your personal taste.
It is quite important that the correct screws are used to attach wall mount units to the backs of flat panel TVs. If the fasteners are not the correct pitch the threads might strip out and then the TV could fall after installation. The screw length is also important. Screws that are too short may not have enough grip and could fail. Screws that are too long will bottom out before tightening up. If you try to force them you could strip them or damage internal parts.
To help eliminate problems during mounting TVs to wall units, an industry-wide group was formed named VESA (Video Electronics Standards Association). Most TV manufacturers comply with the standards established by VESA. If you look at the back of your TV you will notice that the screws holes are in a perfect square pattern. When you measure the distance between holes they should be as follows:
VESA 75 measures 75 mm x 75 mm (approx. 3” x 3”)

VESA 100 measures 100 mm x 100 mm (approx. 4” x 4”)
Uses M4 (Small) screws
VESA 100/200 measures 100 mm x 200 mm (approx. 4” x 8”)
Uses M4 (Small) screws
VESA 200 measures 200 mm x 200 mm (approx. 8” x 8”)
Uses M6 (Medium) screws
VESA 400 measures 400 mm x 400 mm (approx. 16” x 16”)
Uses M8 (Large) screws
Our packs include four, stainless steel, socket button head machine screws that comply with the VESA standards. Also included is a set of stainless steel washers. Our fasteners are made of grade 18-8 (18% Chromium and 8% nickel) solid stainless steel which will prevent rust.
All of the different VESA are metric threads. The chances that you will have a proper size matching set of screws around the house are probably slim.
