Most American car license plates are attached to the vehicle with coarse thread fasteners that screw into plastic mounts. Most Asian vehicles are much different than that. Asian fasteners usually have much finer threads that screw into metal. Since the original equipment screws are often inexpensive pieces, they begin to rust in place after a few years and can be difficult to remove. It is wise to replace these cheap screws with something better before it is too late.

Our license plate screw sets are made of stainless steel to eliminate rust. The screw socket button head style can be installed with a common Allen wrench. There are special washers included in the kit. The washers have a neoprene cushion fused to the stainless steel base. These specialized washers are designed to help eliminate license plate rattle.

If your license plate fasteners thread into metal, these are probably what you need. If your bolts thread into either plastic or vinyl, these screws probably will NOT work for you.

You may think that you could locate license plate screws locally and that may be true. However, metric thread stainless steel screws are not easy to find and certainly not cheap. Neither are stainless steel washers that are sandwiched with rubber. If you end up driving around to locate what you need, you will burn up expensive gasoline and waste your day.
