The electric motor is held in place with just 4 short bolts through the lower pan.
If one is missing, it would be wise to replace it very soon.
Spend a small amount of money and properly secure your ShopSmith Mark V motor in place.

The bolt heads are the Truss style which is wider and more stable than the original pan head bolt heads.
The original star washers were OK for their day, but advancements have been made since then.
Our washers are a neoprene layer bonded to stainless steel.
This combination keeps the bolts tight while decreasing noise and vibration.

You can install this upgrade kit without taking apart your headstock.
Simply change one bolt at a time.

All pieces of our motor mount bolt set are made of grade 18-8 stainless steel which will eliminate future rust.
