We have spoken with parts counter personnel at several German car dealerships and found that the size of BMW and M-B license plate screws can vary from year to year and from model to model. Also, length can vary depending upon the use or non-use of license plate frames. BMW and M-B license plate screws are completely different than American cars, different than Asian Cars and even different that other German cars like Audi, Porsche, & VW. This pack contains three different sizes that should be compatible with 99% of all BMW and M-B variations. If you buy these and still have a problem, please contact us and we will help.

Our license plate screw sets are made of stainless steel to eliminate rust. The socket button head style screws can be installed with a common Allen wrench. There are special washers included in the kit. The washers have a neoprene cushion layer fused to the stainless steel base. These specialized devices are designed to help eliminate license plate rattle.

Obviously you will have left-over fasteners, so what is to be done with the extras? If your car uses the M5 screws and you have the M6s left over, locate an Asian car owner and give the fasteners to them. If your car uses the M6 screws and you have the M5s left over, locate a BMW owner (most, but not all models) or a Mercedes owner (some models) and give the left-over fasteners to them.

You may think that you could locate license plate screws locally and that may be true. However, metric thread stainless steel screws are not easy to find and certainly not cheap. Neither are stainless steel washers that are sandwiched with rubber. If you end up driving around town to locate what you need, you will burn up expensive gasoline and waste your day. Why not just order a set of these and have them delivered to your door?

All pieces of our license plate bolt kit are made of grade 18-8 stainless steel and can be installed with a standard Allen head tool or Phillips head screwdriver.
